On June 12, 2024 local time, Ms. Phiona Nyamutoro, the Minister of Mining Development of Uganda, and her delegation visited the mining area of Wagagai Company. Leaders from Wagagai Mining such as Jiang Genshui, Vice Director of Wagagai Project, and Zhong Hao, Vice Director of Uganda Business Department, warmly welcomed and accompanied the guests throughout the entire process.

After tasting the lunch carefully prepared by the project, the guests began their inspection trip.

Firstly, Hon Minister and the delegation went to the main shaft of the mine and listened to the interpreter Dorah's brief introduction on the gold project. The guests witnessed the internal structure of the main shaft and expressed sincere admiration for its complex engineering design and efficient operating system.

Then, Hon Minister and the delegation gained a comprehensive understanding of the selection and smelting process through a detailed introduction by He Peng, the project external relations manager, so as to have a comprehensive understanding of the metallurgical process. During the visit to the rock core warehouse and laboratory, the local employees demonstrated their proficient skills by cutting and classification process of rock cores on site.

Finally, Hon Minister and the delegation went to the ramp and went deep into the mine to inspect the current status of the project. During the period, Mr. Jiang introduced the design and construction of the ramp to the guests, and explained the important role of the ramp in the underground transportation and ventilation system. Along the way, everyone saw the orderly work of the miners, and personally felt the strict standards and scientific efficiency of construction management in the project.

In the underground work area, Hon Minister and the delegation visited each construction site one by one, and learned about the current project progress and the design concept and purpose of the ramp through the detailed introduction of the person in charge of the project.

After the visit, the two sides held a symposium. At the meeting, Hon Minister and the delegation highly appreciated the overall planning of the Wagagai project, expressed great satisfaction with the progress of project construction, and placed high hopes on the future development of the mining area. It is agreed that the Wagagai project will not only create a large number of local employment opportunities, but also bring significant economic benefits for the local area. It is hoped that the project can be put into operation as soon as possible to promote regional economic development.

Mr. Jiang said that in the future, the Wagagai mining area will continue to develop in a green, efficient and safe direction, and make greater contributions to the prosperity of the local economy.

Before leaving, Project Vice Director Mr. Jiang, on behalf of Group General Manager Mr. Tan, presented Ministry of Mines of Uganda with extremely high gold content ore as a souvenir.
